Body Detoxification by Panchkarma

Ayurveda is a comprehensive process of holistic healing in India used for almost 800 years ago. Panchkarma is a program used in Ayurveda is a cleansing and rejuvenation process created to promote long life.

Panchkarma as the name suggests works on five cleansing, nasal and sinus, small intestines, colon, stomach and lungs and purification of blood. The main focus of using this therapy is to support the body in creating balance. The cleaning process is performed by using various therapies with ayurveda panchkarma equipments. These five cleansing procedures help the body to detoxify and remove accumulated waste materials in the body. 



Vasti – This is the primary and the mother of all treatments. In the cleansing process, the Sneha Vasti or medicinal oils or decoctions clear the build up toxins via large intestines. It is helpful because of the good sucking ability of the rectal area. This procedure is helpful for people suffering from gastric troubles, sexual disorders, menstrual problems and enlargement of liver/spleen, kidney stones, piles and obesity.

Nasyam – This procedure is performed by inserting medicine through nostrils. Since nose is the easy entrance to the head, it cleans up all the toxins accumulated in head and neck region. This procedure is highly effective for diseases like asthma, migraines, sinus and loss of smell/taste.

Virechanam – This procedure works on the bowel activities of the body. In order to perform this, a laxative is mixed with milk or warm water to drink. It cleanses the toxins mounted in liver/gall bladder and gastro-intestinal path. Very effective in skin diseases, urinal disorders, digestion issues, gynaecological troubles and heartburn.

Vamanam – It is procedure to induce vomiting that helps in cleansing of the toxins collected in the body and clears the respiratory system. The vomiting is tempted by giving oral drugs with large quantities of liquid. Works best for patients suffering from allergies, psoriasis, asthma, cough, acidity, regular indigestions and water retention.

Raktamokshana – This is the last procedure of Panchkarma treatment. It helps in detoxifying blood impurities from the body. In this treatment, the impure blood is removed from the body with the help of surgical instruments and also with the help of leech therapy.
